My approach to therapy begins with the establishment of a working partnership. Together we will explore that which stands in the way of living a rich, full and emotionally healthy life. This is accomplished through talking, exploring individual life experiences and relationships and how they shape who you are today. This exploration can take many forms and will integrate different therapy models, depending upon what may be the best fit, modality or intervention for you. There is no "one size fits all." Depending upon the nature of the presenting issues, we may work from a solution focused brief therapy model, more in depth approaches for more complex situations and goals, or both.

I have found that utilizing a variety of therapeutic tools greatly enhances treatment outcomes. Tools may include structured skill building, handouts, books, art and journaling projects, sand tray or other forms of exploration and expression.

Having worked in community mental health settings for many years, I had the opportunity to develop skills and experience working with a variety of issues and ages. In the private practice setting, I have specialized in supporting individuals and families in resolving or improving management of many life stressors: work, health and medical issues, communication and family issues.

I draw from a combination of Cognitive/Behavioral, Family Systems, Brief Therapy and Expressive Arts Therapy.
